back on line!

My modem died - newer computer, hardly ever used modem, but it died. Took us awhile to figure out it was the problem, but it has been fixed!

In the intervening time, my secret pal (hello, secret pal Allison!!) completely and totally spoiled me with such a box of goodies! I was completely floored, as was David, who has never seen secret pal stuff in action. THANK YOU!!!!

Cashmere blend laceweight. Baby *alpaca* laceweight. I am in yarny heaven! I waited to open the yarn last because I love yarn. I think my Pacific Northwest Shawl will now be in Stream baby alpaca - a much better color choice than the burgundy I was using- which has been frogged due to errors. *sigh*

I also got a copy of the bookbookbook - the Yarn Harlot's "At Knit's End, Meditations for women who knit too much" Found a lot of truth there :) Plus a wonderful box, card games, another book, an amazing little candle lamp from Ikea with star cut-outs in the top of it, so it is so going in the bedroom loft, once the paint's done there. All manner of lovely little thoughtful goodies and I feel amazingly spoiled. I hope I helped my pal feel as good as Allison made me feel.
