I have the best secret pal!
I received some amazing yarn from my secret pal recently. Some was so intriguing I simply had to make something, and so I did!

This is one of the pair of spiral rib wrist warmers from Last Minute Knitted Gifts. The yarn is Naturally Merino and Fur, which is an amazing blend of 70% merino, 30% possum. Now, don't be thinking big ratlike virginia possums here. These are Australian possums, and if this yarn is any indication, they're fuzzy soft creatures. I adore this wool! So now, since I still have a bit over a skein left, and I love the way the spiral rib looks, I'm thinking of a matching hat.
Oh, and this wasn't all! I also got three balls (around 300 yards) of a variegated purples 100% *baby* alpaca from Artfibers, which is one of my favorite places to stop and drool. I'm trying to decide what to make with that cushy soft yarn now. A new clapotis - the one I made already is nice, but will probably be gifted to someone for Christmas. It's too...pale for me, I guess. I love the darker colors. I have some lovely blue yarn (the stuff I made the catbed from) that would also make a lovely clapotis. I want to make it bigger, though, and I think I only have enough yarn for the smaller one...
Anyway, THANK YOU to my wonderful globetrotting secret pal - I do envy your travels!
And in private non-knitting life, we got a dog! Phoebe is a border collie rescued from the shelter. She's the best, most amazing dog I've ever known. She makes my days alone ever so much easier.

Yay!
So glad you liked the yarn and love what you did with it. Can't wait to see what might come from the Artfibers. Back from a week in Chicago. No time for yarn shopping, unfortunately. Congrats on the new edition to the family. Would love to see pictures.
